G-Force had a great 2015-2016 year for youth. We started off the year with a kickoff party that involved an evening of fun games, time with friends, worship and devotion time. We averaged 8-12 youth for every meeting.
This year we did a movie on the lawn night and showed Do You Believe in the pavilion. The movie had devotion series book that we did with the youth during our regular meetings throughout the entire year.
G-Force participated in a number of community service acts as well. We did our “Drive by Raking”, helped with Toys 4 Tots and Earth Day Cleanup.
G-Force is also very involved with the Greensburg District Youth. Six of our youth hold offices for District Youth. The district held different events in which the youth participated. We attended the day hike at Jumonville, the All Night Bowling/Service Project, all night Lock-In at Hot Shots and the weekend Youth Retreat at Camp Allegheny. For the service project, we collected items to put Sanitary Bags together and put Christmas Cards in each bag with encouraging Bible Scriptures for 8th Avenue Place and we then delivered those bags to 8th Avenue Place in December. The youth handed the bags out to everyone along with a Bible.
We decided to not take the youth on a mission trip this summer out of state but instead decided to do local mission work for someone in need in our area. This summer we went to Linda’s house and trimmed trees, pulled weeds, power washed the house and foundation. We scraped the paint from the foundation and put on a new coat of paint. We will be going back to put a second coat of paint on the foundation, do some more weeding, cut back a giant bush and look at possibly leveling out her front cement steps and put up a hand rail.
We had 3 youth graduate this year and as hard as it was to see them go, we were happy to send them on their new adventure out in the world.
