Our church has a Higher Education Scholarship and Lay Grant Scholarship Program that is available to all members of Christ United Methodist Church, Youngwood.
Contact the church office for applications.
The purpose of the Higher Education Scholarship Program is to aid members of Christ UMC, Youngwood in their pursuit of higher education.
There is a maximum of $600 for full time students and $300 for part time students per academic year as funds are available.
The Lay Grant Scholarship Program is to aid the laity of CUMC, Youngwood in attending eligible training events that will be of benefit to the ministry of CUMC Youngwood.
Funding is for 50% of the total cost of the event, excluding all travel expenses, with a maximum of $100 in any calendar year. No travel expenses, including transportation, tickets, fares, fees, or meals and/or lodging incurred while traveling to or from an event are fundable.(top)
HELP SEND COOL SCARVES TO SOLDIERS
Circle I is requesting your help in sending Cool Scarves to our soldiers. Cool Scarves are a thin strip of cloth that is filled with crystals what when soaked in water will remain cool for 48 hours.
These scarves are worn around the soldier’s necks to keep them cooler than usual in the intense heat in Iraq.
We are buying some of these scarves for a cost of $1.50 each (if we buy 100) and having them sent to the contact to whom the last soldier’s box was sent.

We would like to have some new faces for greeters for the 8:30 and 10:45 services. If you would like to be a greeter for either service, let the church office know. You would need to be here about one half hour before the service.

CUMC’s Family Retreat is scheduled for Feb. 10-12. Pastor Roy Gearhart will be sharing with us at our Saturday gathering. There will be a signup sheet on table in the narthex for those interested in going.

will be taking a trip to the Fountain of Healing Church on the North side of Pgh. We will need to take a team of skilled people to do repairs due to the roof leaking. Non-skilled persons are also welcome to help with the clean up. More information to follow as to date and time.

sponsored by our youth group on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 4-7 P.M. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children, and 6 and under eat free. All proceeds help the G-Force Youth attend the District Youth Retreat at Camp Allegheny.
